About Us

Dr. Kim Elvington is a native of Bennettsville, South Carolina and graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina in 1999. She obtained a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2003. Dr. Elvington then continued her training at MUSC, where she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency and then a two-year residency in Pediatric Dentistry. In 2006, she moved back to the Pee Dee and began practicing dentistry locally. In August 2010, she and her husband Brice opened Florence Pediatric Dentistry together. Dr. Elvington is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and also provides dental services for children at McLeod Regional Medical Center and Carolinas Hospital.

 

Dr. Elvington is an active member of Central United Methodist Church and has been involved in local community organizations, including the Junior League of Florence and The Children's Museum of the Pee Dee. One of her favorite Bible verses is Colossians 3:23, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men." She loves spending time with her husband and young children, Hampton, Katie Brice, and Bowen.

When do I see the dentist?

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends that a child be seen for a first dental visit by age one.

How do I prevent cavities?

Brush your child’s teeth for him twice a day. Around age 8, your child may be able to begin to brush without assistance, but supervision should continue into adolescence.
